Through the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit, our church has been fortunate to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus alongside many wonderful people. JSCC helps support ministries locally, regionally, and globally through financial donations and mission opportunities.
Kenya Church of Christ Children’s Home
Kenya
Jennifer Ashlock serves as the administrator for the Kenya Church of Christ Children’s Home. Now in her 17th year as a missionary in Kenya and Uganda, Jennifer is a native of San Angelo, and was raised in the pews of Johnson Street Church of Christ. The Kenya Church of Christ Children’s Home provides care for children who have been orphaned, abandoned, or rescued from abuse. The home seeks to show the children that they are loved and valued by God. While there, children learn important life skills as they participate in service projects and the day-to-day operational activities. The home ensures that every child receives an education through high school or trade school, and offers support to children even after they transition into adulthood
Biblical Institute of Central America (BICA)
Guatemala & Honduras
The Biblical Institute of Central America (BICA) serves the regions of Guatemala & Honduras. It is a two-year Bible school that is focused on training preachers in the Central American countries of Guatemala and Honduras. This “multiplying” ministry has started 12 churches and baptized over 2,000 people. The concept comes from 2 Timothy 2:2 where Paul instructs Timothy to teach others what he had learned from Paul.

CURA’s mission: Love your neighbor and consider the dignity of each person through our actions that promote the quality of life in the health, social, housing, and spiritual areas. (Proverbs 3:27)
Antenor Gonçalves serves as the CURA Brazil Director, while his wife, Phyllis, serves alongside him as the USA CURA Director. Their work in Brazil has expanded beyond the traditional pulpit ministry. The community is now served through CURA with medical care, meals, and life classes. Crescimento Limpo offers rehabilitation and job skills for addicts and ex-prisoners with a 90% success rate.
International Sanctuary Ministries
India
Isaac Palaparthi is an evangelist and the International Sanctuary Ministries director of operations in India. Isaac and his wife, Mary, are sharing the Gospel throughout India – with tribal peoples in the hills, to a leper colony and local widows, with people of Hindu faith, and others. They care for orphans and children from unfortunate circumstances at the Sanctuary Home for Children, providing them with safety, love, mentorship, a healthy life, and showing God’s love by teaching His word. They opened a government-accredited, Christ-centered school on campus in 2024. They help provide clean water to villages, and are feeding and educating children in a slum area they renamed “Hope Village.”
World Bible School

Paul & Judy White are our resident World Bible School study helpers. They correspond with people from all over that are searching the scriptures to learn the good news of Jesus Christ. World Bible School’s mission is to share Jesus with the world by motivating and equipping a global network of Christians to use interactive Bible studies effectively.
Impact Church & Mission Alive
Temple, Texas
Roy Rhodes and his family joined the Johnson Street family when Roy worked as a ministry intern under Dr. Tommy King. Roy is now the Senior Minister of Impact Temple and Coordinator of Residency Programs at Mission Alive. Both of these domestic mission outreach efforts focus on reaching the marginalized of Central Texas, working to meet the needs of the community.
