Scott is the Senior Minister at Johnson Street Church of Christ. Since joining the JSCC staff in 2017, he has enjoyed teaching, serving, and being a part of the San Angelo community through Johnson Street. He brings a textured resume to his role: after earning his BA from Hardin-Simmons University, he worked in entertainment, education, and consulting. He holds an MFA in Theatre from the University of Houston and a Master’s in Conflict Resolution from Abilene Christian University, where he is also currently working toward his Doctor of Ministry.

His wife of 30 years, Shelly, has spent her career ministering to children as a 4th-grade reading teacher. They have two children, a son, Liam, and a daughter, Olivia, who recently married her husband, Reid. When he’s not at the office, you will likely find Scott reading, spending time with his family, working in the garage on his latest project, or on his motorcycle exploring the back roads of San Angelo. He loves the incredible music and art of San Angelo, as well as the nearby, top-tier restaurants… But his favorite thing about the city is the people who call it home. As a cancer survivor, he attributes his current good health to the prayers and encouragement of his family and this community.
